The Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications for grants.
The Foundation makes inquiries to organizations it may wish to fund in accordance with its mission and established guidelines.
Grants are made only to organizations described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Multi year grants are considered
Grants are not made to individuals.
Grants are made to or for:
- Specific projects
- General operating support
- Professional and staff development
- Agencies seeking to expand their services
- Matching funds or challenge grants
- Start-up costs for promising new organizations or programs that demonstrate sound management and clear goals relevant to the Foundation’s mission
Grant making emphasis is in New Mexico, New England and Florida, but is not limited exclusively to those areas. Grants are also made to projects or organizations, which are national or international in scope, but affect the mission areas.
The Trustees review and act upon grant applications twice a year, in May and November. Applicants will be advised in advance of the exact deadline for submitting proposals, and will be notified of the Board’s decision within one week after the meeting.
The Trustees will distribute grants upon approval of the proposal, and receipt of the Grant Agreement signed by an authorized representative of the organization.
Upon completion of the project or program, the Foundation requires an evaluation and a brief report as described in the grant agreement.
For on-going programs, or multi-year support, periodic reports are expected as stated in the agreement.
